Monday-Tuesday (12th,13th)

Hey all,

Well classes have officially started, but I really like the format of our classes. On Monday I have 6 hours of class but both are extremely interesting. One of the classes is going to focus on British Culture and the other is a class about Islam. Today I had class for just 3 hours but its an Art History class and we actually went to the British Museum. The rest of our classes for Art History are actually at Museums with the exception of our final. So that is nice, not having any classroom work to do. I'm a little bummed I tried to get into a theatre class that has a similar format, you just go out to shows. However, I wasn't able to switch into it because all of the tickets for the events have already been purchased. On Wednesday and Thursday's I will only have class from 10-11:30.

The British Museum was pretty cool today, we were looking at an exhibit that showed remnants of the sculptures that were on the Parthenon. Its the largest collection of the pieces in the world, you'd think Greece would have the biggest collection, but the Brits took em in the 1700's.

A couple of us used "The Tube" today. The Tube is the subway system over here but it was pretty easy to use. The more of this city I explore the more I continue to fall in love with it.

Hope everyone is doing fine back in the States, and bearing out that crazy cold weather! It was a balmy 50 degrees here today. Much love.

  1. The cool thing about seeing all these museum's you will now which ones for us to hit when we get there! This beer tour also, I do know your tastes are a bit different then mine but I'm interested in trying the ones you do like, keep track.

I know all is well with you and that you have been looking forward for this for the past year. Keep on smiling and having fun because before you know it you will be back in the states, unless you meet someone? Which then may add a month or two to your stay.

    Love Always

  2. Hey buddy!!

Sounds like you are having a blast!! Interesting start to the trip, that's for sure.

I (Steve-O) made it thru the week back in Mpls with only a scrape down the side of my face. Not sure how that happened, but Josh, Adam, Louie and I hit up downtown the Friday before I came back and there are some gaps in the evening!! Went to bed SUPER late and was up at 8:15am to catch a ride w/ G-Pa to Drew's bball game. They ended up losing, but he played well. I decided to catch an earlier flight back to Philly b/c I was dead tired and had been gone for what was my 10th day. I missed my wife and baby and NEEDED to get back to see them (yes, Sarah is watching me type this ;) Adeline was super excited to see me, which was great.

Glad to hear you are loving the pub scene. I remember how great it was when I was there. It's definitely the social thing to do. Do they still serve the beers at room temp??

Adeline giggled for the first time yesterday for Sarah, so I am excited to hear it. We also moved her stuff into her own room -- yeah!! She's sleeping thru the night also -- double yeah!!

The blog is a GREAT idea. Thanks for keeping us in the loop w/ what's movin' and shakin' for you.

    Love ya and miss ya.

P.S. If you can, don't forget to send a photo of you and the "super-model hot" girl from your first night out ;)
